This year we’re excited to celebrate 60 years of BIAs and local businesses that make Surrey neighbourhoods the places that we love to eat, shop, play and be in!

We are inspired by the strength and resilience of merchants and the shop local support over the past year. The collaboration between business, community and government sectors, has been invaluable to help businesses and business areas adapt and come out stronger.

ABOUT BIAs

Did you know there are 4 BIAs in Surrey, with over 60 all over BC? The first BIAs started in 1989 were Gastown, Mount Pleasant and Downtown Vancouver.

Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) are specially funded business districts managed by non-profit groups of property owners and business tenants whose goal is to promote and improve their business district. A BIA can make things better by enhancing and promoting the area in result making the area safer, beautiful, vibrant, and more connected.

The Coalition of Surrey BIAs, representing 4 BIAs across the City, diligently advocates on behalf of small businesses and communities.
